The entries into Victoria Falls are all settling in the race loft now and are doing well. Most of the birds are free flying in the afternoon whilst the temperatures are still high and it is close to roosting time. This discourages birds from ranging and taking birds that are newly introduced too far from the loft.

The health of the pigeons are generally good with the odd exception. Antibiotics are not used as a flock treatment at this stage to allow the flock to build some resistance to the pathogens they are exposed to. Antibiotic treatment is restricted to individual birds that are sick and being kept in isolation. We do our own in-house microscopic examinations for common ailments. Dr Rob Conradie, the pigeon specialist veterinarian from South Africa, visits us from time to time to advise and test samples. Dr Rob is currently with us for a few days.

The deadline for the activation of at least one pigeon per team of USD 950 was set at 31st December. For the discounted entry fee of USD 850 per pigeon for all 5 birds in a team or all pigeons remaining under individual entrants (if at least 10 birds) must be paid for by 31st December. We have extended the receipt of payment to 15 January 2020 to cater for slow bank transactions over the holiday period. Please be advised that normal entered birds that have not had at least one bird in the team paid for by 15 January will regretfully have to be removed from the competition.

There is some information missing from entrants. Please peruse the list and advise us of missing or incorrect information. Kindly send us your entry forms by email urgently if you have not already done so.

All new fanciers login information will be emailed to them in the next few days. All fanciers who have raced with us previously can still use the same login information from last season.
