RACE REPORT HOTSPOT 4
Hotspot 4 was held from Lupane Dam on Saturday 5th of July 2025, 237 km from the loft. There was a North wind to start (head wind) which changed to an East wind by 8 am. Temperatures ranging from 11 degrees Celsius to a maximum daytime temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. The first pigeons arrived at a Velocity of 1450 m/min. Some of the birds that returned the second day were injured.
1864 pigeons were sent to the race and they returned as follows,
- 339 birds arrived in the first 5 minutes (18%)
- 1309 birds in the first 15 minutes (70%)
- 1492 birds within 1 hour (80%)
- 1536 on the first day (82%)
1568 birds returned in race time. 16% were still out when the clock was stopped.
