RACE REPORT HOTSPOT 1
Hotspot 1 was held from Safari Lodge on Saturday 14th of June, 146 km from the loft. There was a strong wind from the East resulting in a fast race of 1764 m/min.
2226 pigeons were sent to the race and they returned as follows,
- 91 birds 5 minutes behind the winner (4%)
- 1443 birds within 15 minutes (65%)
- 2131 birds within 1 hour (96%)
- 2171 on the first day (98%)
2180 birds returned in race time. 2% were still out when the clock was stopped.
There were 4 birds which suffered falcon attacks, 2 with missing flight feathers, 1 sewn up from injury and 1 handed in which was killed by a falcon close to home.
