RACE REPORT HOTSPOT 3
Hotspot 3 from 318 km was raced on Saturday June 18th. There was a Northeast wind which was a crosswind and headwind at times. The temperature was hotter than usual, and the sky was clear.
All tracker pigeons that took longer than 4 hours to arrive home stopped for water. Some took about 3 minutes at the stop, but others waited for several hours. Majority of them reached about 300 meters above ground level.
Most of the pigeons that came late are in reasonable condition and are ready to continue training.
By the time the clock was stopped there were 4112 pigeons home of the 4980 sent to the race. 83% returned in race time.
Please be advised that, according to the rules, For Sale birds entry fee is adjusted downward after Hotspot 3. Donor birds are now $800 ($50 for the Wildlife Trust) and other birds are $750. These birds cannot enter the Super Ace competition but can compete in other eligible competitions.
