VICTORIA FALLS ENDURO RACE 725 KM
GUARANTEED MINIMUM $50 000 PRIZE MONEY
We are pleased to announce that we have decided to offer an additional race in view of the number of pigeons which returned after the 600 km final race held on Thursday 29th July. The pigeons are fit and in remarkable condition and will be ready for this extra flight.
We are contracted to supply pigeons to PIPA which they select for sale. From the Final from 600 km PIPA has selected on the following criteria;
- First 70 Super Ace pigeons
- First 70 Final Race (20 already selected in Super Ace)
- First 10 Grand Average (9 birds already selected from final or Super Ace)
The total number selected for the PIPA sale is therefore 121 birds as some of the pigeons are duplicated in more than one competition.
The birds selected for the PIPA Sale cannot be selected for the VICTORIA FALLS ENDURO.
The balance of the pigeons will be available to compete in the VICTORIA FALLS ENDURO RACE from approximately 725 km under the following conditions.
- The activation fee will be $250 per pigeon. Prize money already won and or next year free entries can be used for this. We will confirm when activations are open and available in your race login.
- The first 200 activated pigeons entry fee will go 100% to prize money with a guaranteed minimum pay-out of $50 000 spread over 50 places.
- All activation fees over 200 birds will be split 60% to increase prize money, 20% to race running costs and 20% as a donation to the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. See prize money split below.
- Pigeons can only be activated by the person who held the activation at the final (The Activator). The exception is that there are some reserve unpaid pigeons that returned and were hidden for the final. These pigeons will also be available to activate on a first come first served basis booked by email once a ring list is published. Their Final Race result will however remain hidden.
- If any activator, who had pigeons return in the final does not want their bird to compete in the Enduro, they must advise us by Friday 6th August 12:00 CAT by email. Birds that do not compete will be held at the loft to help break-in new pigeons or given away. They may not be included in the export for sale unless specifically selected.
- Unless we receive notification to hold pigeons back, all fit birds not in the 121 birds selected for sale will compete in the Enduro scheduled for Monday 9th August.
- We will have a training toss from 103 km on Thursday 5th August.
- We will announce when activations start after this training toss and pigeons will not be let out the loft.
- Bonus Races will be available for this training flight and the Victoria Falls Enduro.
- The list of participating pigeons will be finalised after basketing for the Enduro, and activation and pooling will close 5 hours after liberation.
- Race time will close at 19:00 CAT on the second day after first bird arrival in the Enduro.
- All pigeons that return in the ENDURO RACE will be exported for sale and net sale proceeds will be split as per the terms and conditions in Term 5.1
- PIPA will select a minimum of 50 birds (if available) from the Enduro for sale.
- All other birds that return in race time will be exported for auction to various other auction houses.
