Now that VFWCPR has completed the final race of the yearling series the remaining pigeons must be cleared from the loft. This is not an easy task because of restrictions on the movement of birds worldwide and the extremely high cost of shipping pigeons. Nevertheless, there are birds which are valuable, and we have given the opportunity to entrants to take possession of their birds.

There are 3 scenarios;

1.      Winning pigeons selected by PIPA will go to Europe for sale at no cost to the entrant.

2.      Other activated pigeons not selected by PIPA can be sent to the entrants if they pay the shipping and quarantine costs (there will be no sale price).

3.      Pigeons not activated and birds not asked to be returned will be sold out of hand or given away.

Details;

1.      The pigeons listed below have been selected by PIPA for auction by them. Full details of this auction will be announced in due course. We have indicated which birds we already have pedigrees for. The deadline for us to receive the outstanding pedigrees by email is before Saturday 14^th July. This is so that the birds are ready for the planned quarantine and shipment. If you are in Europe please then post the original pedigree as well as the ring card directly to PIPA and confirm to us that you have done so.

2.      All other pigeons which are being shipped (excluding those selected by PIPA) will be sent to either Kuwait (if going to a Middle Eastern country) or to USA first and from there they will be sent to other various destinations including Europe. It is necessary for us to route pigeons through a reliable, experienced and professional shipper and from where most destinations can be reached. Unfortunately the cost is high but includes a fixed brokerage of $2000 in USA and a daily fee paid to USDA of $6 per bird for quarantine. The costs are dependent on the quantity of pigeons shipped so it is unknown until we have exact numbers. Please note that we are currently not able to send pigeons to South Africa.

The deadline for us to be informed that you will be taking your bird is by Saturday 14^th July at 12 noon CAT (Any birds not going back will then be sold out of hand per point 3 below).

As a guide the costs that will then need to be paid by Saturday 21^st July at 12 noon CAT are as follows;

For Middle Eastern countries;

-          $160 for pre-export quarantine, veterinary testing, permits and shipping from Africa to Kuwait as well as clearance in Kuwait, but not including delivery charge to buyers in Middle East.

For all other countries;

-          $125 for pre-export quarantine, veterinary testing, permits and shipping within Africa to USA.

-          Approximately $325 (depending on how many birds are shipped) for permits, USA broker’s fee, collection and USDA quarantine (30 days). We reserve the right to change this amount once we have the exact numbers to be shipped.

-          $150 for shipping from USA to Belgium and quarantine in Belgium.

So for a pigeon going to Kuwait it will cost $160, to USA approximately $450 and for one going to Europe approximately $600.

3.      The remaining pigeons will be sold out of hand. If anyone has a particular interest in an available pigeon, please email admin@victoriafallswcpr.com and make an offer for an out of hand sale of $100 or more with increments of $50. We will publish a list of these birds and their offers on our website starting on Monday 9 July. Offers by email will close on Saturday 21^st July at 12 noon CAT and the person with the highest offer will be informed. Birds with no offers at this time will then be given away.

Buyers outside of Africa can request for us to ship the bought bird together with those mentioned in point 2 above and those shipping costs will apply. Payment of the sale price as well as the shipping and quarantine (if applicable) must be paid by Tuesday 24^th July at 12 noon CAT, otherwise the person with the next highest offer will be allowed to buy the bird.
